- The Cover for International Treatment is subject to a Co-Payment of 20% and the claim settlement process is available only on a Cashless Basis.

The Policyholder should keep the below mentioned points in mind when selecting a Global Health Insurance Plan:
- Cashless Claim Settlement: Many Global Health Insurance Plans settle Health Insurance Claims on a Reimbursement basis only which means that the Insured will have to initially pay the medical expenses out of his own pocket before the Insurance Policy reimburses him for the same. This means that the Insured will have to bear substantial expenses out of his own pocket since global treatments are expensive. So, the Insured should choose a plan that offers cashless treatment abroad as this will result in the Insurance Company settling the bill directly with the hospital. Consequently, the Insured will not have to bear the expenses out of his own pocket
- Check Coverage Area: Some Global Health Insurance Plans exclude coverage for treatment availed in USA and Canada. The Policyholder should ensure the plan covers countries where he might need medical treatment.
- Scope of Coverage: Some Global Health Insurance Plans offer coverage for Emergency Treatments only while others offer coverage for Planned and Emergency Treatments. The Policyholder should read the fine print of the Health Insurance Policy of the coverage provided.
- Waiting Period: Some Health Insurance Plans have a Waiting Period of 90 days to 2 years before they provide coverage for Worldwide treatment. The Policyholder should make sure to read about the Waiting Period for Global Cover before purchasing the Policy.
- Premiums: The Premiums for Global Health Insurance Plan are significantly higher than for Policies without the Global Cover. Therefore, the Policyholder should purchase a Global Health Insurance Plan only if there a good likelihood of him using the feature.
