What does New India Group Personal Accident Insurance Policy Cover?

The New India GPA Insurance Policy offers the following coverages:

  1. Accidental Death: New India GPA Insurance Policy pays 100% of the Policy Sum Insured for any injury caused due to an accident that immediately or within 12 months from the date of the accident that caused the injury results in the death of an Insured Employee.
  2. Permanent Total Disablement (PTD): The New India Group Accidental Insurance Policy pays 100% of the Sum Insured in case of an Accidental Body Injury that, immediately or within 12 months from the date of the accident that caused the injury, results in loss of sight of both eyes, or of the actual loss by “physical separation” of two entire hands or two entire feet, or of one entire hand and one entire foot, or of such loss of sight of one eye and such loss of one entire hand or one entire foot. The New India Group Accidental Insurance Policy pays 50% of the Sum Insured in case of an Accidental Body Injury that, immediately or within 12 months from the date of the accident that caused the injury, results in loss of sight of one eye or of the actual loss by physical separation of one entire hand or of one entire foot or Total and irrecoverable loss of use of a hand or a foot without physical separation
  3. Permanent Partial Disablement (PPD): If an accident leads to Permanent Partial Disablement (PTD), New India Assurance GPA Insurance Policy pays a percentage of the Sum Insured as a benefit. The table below shows the percentage of the Sum Insured paid in the event of different types of losses:

Temporary Total Disablement (TTD): In case of an Accident Bodily Injury results in Temporary Total Disablement of the Insured Employee which prevents the employee from engaging in his occupation, the New India Group Personal Accident Insurance Policy pays a weekly benefit of 1% of sum insured up to a maximum of 100 weeks or total Sum Insured, starting the from date of commencement of such disability.

What are the Add-On Covers under New India Group Personal Accident Insurance Policy?

New India Group Personal Accident Insurance Policy offers the following Add-On Covers:

  1. Accidental Hospitalization Expenses: The New India GPA Insurance Policy reimburses the costs of necessary medical treatment that the Insured Person has to obtain due to being hospitalized as an inpatient for more than 24 hours because of the Accidental Bodily Injury that he suffered. However, the Payment under the Policy is limited to 40% of the value of the claim value accepted under Accidental Death or Disability Claim or Rs5 Lakhs, whichever is lower.
  2. Transportation of Mortal Remains: The New India Group Personal Accident Policy shall pay a lumpsum of 2% of Capital Sum Insured or Rs. 25000/- whichever is less, in the event of the death of the Insured person due to an accident outside his residence, for transportation of Insured person’s Dead Body to the place of residence
  3. Child Education Support: If an Accidental Bodily Injury results in Death or Permanent Total Disablement, then Policy provides an amount up to Rs. 25000 / Rs. 50000 to the dependent children of an Insured employee.
  4. Parental Care Benefit: If an Accidental Bodily Injury results in Death or Permanent Total Disablement, then the New India GPA Policy provides an amount as specified in the Policy towards parental care of the dependent parents of an Insured employee.
  5. Cover for Expenses related to Burns: Expenses incurred during hospitalization by an Insured employee because of any degree of burns suffered due to an Accident are covered under New India Group Personal Accident Policy.

  2. Any Claims in respect of death, injury or disablement of the Insured due to participation in adventure or professional sports such as bungee jumping, scuba diving are not covered under the Policy.
  3. Any Claims in respect of death, injury or disablement of the Insured due to the Insured committing any breach of the law are not covered under the Policy.
  4. New India Group Personal Accident Insurance Policy does not cover any Claim in respect of Death or disablement resulting from childbirth or pregnancy.
  5. The Policy does not cover Claims respect of Death or Bodily Injury to the Insured while serving in the Military or Armed Forces of any country during war operations.

How to Cancel New India Group Personal Accident Insurance Policy?

The Employer can cancel New India GPA Insurance Policy by sending 15 days written notice to the Insurance Company. If no claim has been made under the Group Personal Accident Insurance Policy, the premium will be refunded depending on the time the Policy has been in effect.
